Cabins
At Fin 'N' Feather most of our cabins offer a postcard view of Bull Shoals Lake. There's plenty of windows so there's a view from almost any interior angle. And our views are what you'd expect from the Arkansas Ozark Mountains! Cabins 7 and 8 have screened-in porches facing the lake views. Between the cabins and the lake is a tree-shaded lawn frequented by deer and wild turkey.

We take pride in our rustic, knotty pine cabins. Sparkling clean and well maintained, they're ready and waiting for you! All cabins have linens, towels, soap, and toilet paper so there's no need to bring yours. You'll also find cooking utensils, serviceware for 4 to 6 people, microwaves, color TV sets, toasters, and coffee makers. Outside each cabin is a picnic table and a BBQ grill. You also get your choice of a free boat slip or the use of a fishing boat free of charge with each night's cabin rental. And because we are open the year around, each cabin is well heated for cooler weather, and air conditioned for summer heat. You'll be comfortable in any season in Fin 'N' Feather cabins!

Boat Dock & Boat Rentals
Our private, covered, illuminated boat dock features electrical outlets at each slip. The slips are wide enough to accommodate today's larger watercraft. The dock's fish cleaning table has running water, cutting board, and cleaning knives. Because the dock is a great place to look out over the lake, we also have a porch swing on the dock. We have a separate swim deck for those who love to sun bathe after a swim in the lake. With each night's cabin rental you get your choice of a free boat slip or the use of a fishing boat at no extra charge.

The children love to feed the large carp who live around the dock. It is a special to watch the large fish rise to eat the fish pellets the children throw to them. For those who enjoy a tasty catfish dinner, there are many blue and channel catfish caught off our dock each year. For those who want to preserve the fish they catch the dock also has a live well. We offer free freeezer space if you wish to preserve your catch. If you are bringing your own boat you get a free slip with each night's cabin rental. We have a hard surfaced boat launch ramp of our own, and there is another good hard surfaced boat launch ramp at the Oakland Marina, which is just 5 minutes away by auto or boat.

For guests who leave their boats with us between stays we offer a boat launching service where their craft are in the water and ready to go when they arrive. If you wish to keep your craft out of the water during your stay, our dock has two pneumatic lifts. Best of all, you'll find our dock is very easy to get to. Just drive right up to it, unload, and walk over to your boat. Or if you prefer, you can easily walk down to the dock. The drive or walk down from your cottage is only about 500 feet. There's no struggling up and down steep hillsides, or having to drive down rough, steep roads to get to your boat. And you can see the dock from your cottage.

If you need to rent a boat we have two rental craft. Our 15.5 foot bass boat comes with console steering, live wells, depth finder, casting seats, foot controlled trolling motor, and a 40 hp Yamaha outboard. Our 20-foot pontoon boat has a fold-down sun canopy, swivel seats, aerated live well, and a swim ladder. We also rent trolling motors and 15hp to 20hp outboards.

About Our Grounds & The Oakland Area
If escaping to a quiet, peaceful forest and lake setting is your idea of a vacation destination, you're heading in the right direction by coming to the Oakland area of Bull Shoals Lake. Located just south of the Missouri state line, the tiny community of Oakland offers a cafe, a marina, and just enough civilized amenities to keep you comfortable and conveniently set in the depths of an Ozark forest along the lake shore. Fin 'N' Feather rests at the end of a road in a secluded location. You'll see no other buildings except ours. We sit on the shore of a secluded cove just off the main lake channel. It's great for water skiing, fishing, or just plain relaxing in quiet sunshine. We've got plenty of tall hardwoods providing cool shade, yet the grounds are open enough to see wildlife and the lake from almost anywhere on our three-acre grounds.

We have a covered, lighted pavilion which is great for picnics. We have porch swings set up outside for relaxing evening wildlife watching. There's plenty of grass for your children to run on. You'll find our quiet, forested setting on the cove a most refreshing place!

When you get the urge to explore, you'll find several attractions within an hour's drive, and many more within a day-trip's range. We're 35 minutes from Mountain Home, Arkansas where you'll find several restaurants, movie theaters, and retail shopping boutiques. The Arkansas White River, world-famous for its trout fishing, is about 40 minutes away. The Ozark National Forest is about an hour away.

The Ozark Folk Center, with its 20-plus live music, crafts, and Ozark Folk activities booths, is only 1.5 hours away. Visit Mountain Village 1890 and Bull Shoals Caverns where you'll see underground streams with trout in them and buildings from the late 1800's. Get a bird's eye view of the Ozarks by riding to the top of the observation tower called the "Top 'O the Ozarks" - all in the City of Bull Shoals, Arkansas.

If you wish, you can travel a few hours and explore Blanchard Springs Caverns, travel to the world-famous musical entertainment of Branson, Missouri, visit the Bass Pro Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, or visit Silver Dollar City, Missouri.
