creating fond Ozark vacation memories for over 30 years
The Osage Indians were farmers and hunters that inhabited north central Arkansas until the early 1800s. In early dawn hours, you can almost hear the sounds of an awakening tee-pee village in the forest that is home to Indian Point Resort. Location
Setting When the relaxing is over and they're ready for action with the kids, there's plenty to do. May through September it's water sports time. Swimming, boating, tubing, water skiing, and fishing together are what most of our guests enjoy. During October, November, and December guests come to fish and just to relax. January and February are our cold months. In March and April guests once again come for fishing, relaxing, wildflower blooms, and bird watching. |
Lodging Indian Point Resort offers 6 lodging units accommodating a combined maximum of 25 people. Two of the units are separate stand-alone cabins (units 3 and 6). The other four are housed in two duplex buildings, two units to a duplex. The description and rates for each unit are listed below in the rate table.
Each unit has a full kitchen with range, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, utensils, and tableware. Each unit has heating and air conditioning, a color TV (antenna reception only), a covered porch, BBQ grill, and a picnic table. We supply all linens and towels except beach and swimming towels. We supply fresh towels every third day. You'll find a complementary bag of fish food when you arrive as children so enjoy feeding the wild fish down at our dock. Let us know if you need additional equipment, such as baby bed, rollaway, etc. We're happy to oblige! Activities For those who enjoy observing nature there are numerous public lands for wildflower walks, bird watching, hiking, and photography trips. Bald and golden eagles winter in this area from mid October through early March. Canoeing, horseback riding, and hiking are all within the area. Then, within an hour's drive, are many of the Twin Lakes area's top attractions. The City of Mountain Home, 35 minutes away, has several restaurants, antique and craft shopping, and 18 hole golf. For a scenic and active day trip, travel south on Arkansas Scenic By-Way to the Ozark Folk Center, to Blanchard Springs Caverns, and the fantastic arts and crafts shopping in Mountain View, Arkansas, where you can also enjoy live music entertainment bluegrass style. Fishing If trout are your game fish of choice, you can fish the White and North Fork rivers. Expect to catch from 40 to 60 rainbow in the 12 to 14 inch size per day. You may also catch brown, brook, and cutthroat. All four thrive in both rivers, with the North Fork being the best bet for the brookies. If trophy trout fishing is your goal, go out with a qualified trout guide and you'll stand an excellent chance at catching one or more browns in the four pound and above class. |
Water Sports
Youll find a fish-cleaning station with running water and 110v electrical outlets for your use at each boat stall. Our boat launch gives you flat, gravel-based access to the lake.
