The Osage Indians were farmers and hunters that inhabited north central Arkansas until the early 1800’s. In early dawn hours, you can almost hear the sounds of an awakening tee-pee village in the forest that is home to Indian Point Resort.

Indian Point Resort is at the end of a quiet road that terminates at our dock. The Indian Point area of Bull Shoals Lake is uncrowded and quiet. Instead of buildings you'll see miles of verdant Ozark hardwood forests surrounding sparkling Bull Shoals Lake. We're located on the north shore of Bull Hollow Cove in the Gulley (pronounced Gooley) Spring Creek arm of Bull Shoals Lake. We're two miles from the recreation community of Oakland, Arkansas about three miles due south (as a crow flies) of the Missouri/Arkansas state line. It's a 40 minute drive to Mountain Home Arkansas, and a 25 minute drive to Gainesville, Missouri. On the water we are 1/4 mile south of Point 10.

You’ll find Indian Point Resort a marvelously restful and secluded vacation spot where it is easy to enjoy the many things this natural state has to offer. Oak and hickory trees are all through and around our property. Wildflowers, birds, deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife thrive in the area. The gentle walk down the road to the dock is a fine way to spot local flora and fauna. Children enjoy games of hide and seek. Adults enjoy doing nothing for hours except sitting on the porch to read or watch the children.

When the relaxing is over and they're ready for action with the kids, there's plenty to do. May through September it's water sports time. Swimming, boating, tubing, water skiing, and fishing together are what most of our guests enjoy. During October, November, and December guests come to fish and just to relax. January and February are our cold months. In March and April guests once again come for fishing, relaxing, wildflower blooms, and bird watching.

Indian Point Resort offers 6 lodging units accommodating a combined maximum of 25 people. Two of the units are separate stand-alone cabins (units 3 and 6). The other four are housed in two duplex buildings, two units to a duplex. The description and rates for each unit are listed below in the rate table.

For those who enjoy observing nature there are numerous public lands for wildflower walks, bird watching, hiking, and photography trips. Bald and golden eagles winter in this area from mid October through early March. Canoeing, horseback riding, and hiking are all within the area. Then, within an hour's drive, are many of the Twin Lakes area's top attractions. The City of Mountain Home, 35 minutes away, has several restaurants, antique and craft shopping, and 18 hole golf. For a scenic and active day trip, travel south on Arkansas Scenic By-Way to the Ozark Folk Center, to Blanchard Springs Caverns, and the fantastic arts and crafts shopping in Mountain View, Arkansas, where you can also enjoy live music entertainment bluegrass style.

There are no closed seasons on Bull Shoals Lake or the White River so you can fish any time of the year. During the hot summer months fishing is best at day light and again after dark. Night fishing for walleye and crappie is very popular on Bull Shoals. Walleye in excess of 7 pounds are common catches. Spotted bass (Kentucky bass) are common in the waters around Indian Point from June through winter. During December, January, and February largemouth hold along the sharp shoreline breaks. During March pre-spawning crappie and bass congregate in the Mountain Creek area, spawn in April, then stay in Mountain Creek through most of June. In March and April the white bass come to life in the back of the creek arms. Children and adults enjoy catching blue gill, catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass from the Indian Point Resort dock.

If trout are your game fish of choice, you can fish the White and North Fork rivers. Expect to catch from 40 to 60 rainbow in the 12 to 14 inch size per day. You may also catch brown, brook, and cutthroat. All four thrive in both rivers, with the North Fork being the best bet for the brookies. If trophy trout fishing is your goal, go out with a qualified trout guide and you'll stand an excellent chance at catching one or more browns in the four pound and above class.

Water Sports
The clean water and unpopulated lake call out to fisherman, swimmers and boaters alike. We make it easy for you to enjoy this wonderful body of water with our convenient dock and boat rentals. We maintain a 92 foot dock that is illuminated for early morning and late evening activities. Many of our guests enjoy hanging out on the dock feeding the large wild fish and turtles who come begging for treats.

Meet Your Hosts
Jim and Patti Dye are experienced resort managers who recently made the jump to resort owners. Once the decision to move from bustling California was made, they researched many known resort areas (Arizona, Washington, New Mexico) before settling on North Arkansas.

When they viewed this property for the first time, they knew it was the perfect place for patrons to spend serene afternoons by the water's edge. Formerly known as Henry's Resort, they renamed it Indian Point Resort. Patti and Jim are excited to meet the many faithful customers of Henry's Resort. Some have been coming to the resort for more than 30 years. Jim and Patti wish to make them feel at home. They are also looking forward to meeting lots of new people who will start their own 30 year tradition at Indian Point Resort!
