What Does Beautifully Secluded Mean?
It depends on how tired of noise, stinky air, and crowds you really are. If you have had all you can take of City life, if the pressure in the office is high enough to launch the Space Shuttle without any fuel, then relief just does not get any better than Pinder's. But what if life is really grand, with no pressures? You'll feel right at home.

What creates all the relaxation at Pinder's? After all, when it comes to lake resorts, we all claim relaxation. You be the judge. Consider: At Pinder's just the drive in to the resort will make you wonder if we are at the end of the earth. We're not, but we're close! There are no other buildings around. All you see for miles is forest and lake - and the friends and family who come with you. Oops! How could we forget all the wildlife, the song birds, and the wild flowers? There's so many, we see them all the time, so we take them for granted, that's why we forgot them. But you won't.

Because Pinder's is out on the end of a long peninsula, and because we are in a remote part of the Ozarks, you'll have your choice of thousands of acres for a playground  - either of water or of forest. Whether your passion is butterflies, fishing, water skiing, birding, swimming (pool or lake), or just plain goofing off, you WILL be over-whelmed with natural choices. From fishers to amateur naturalists, to family reunions, and for individuals, Pinder's has become a top choice for total peace and quiet. And it has been Pinder's guests who, over the last 25 years, have dubbed Pinder's "beautifully secluded".

Who Are Owners Ron & Wiesia?
Your fun and energetic hosts from the heart of Chicago. Talk about the rat race! We ran a Chicago tavern for 17 years before buying Pinder's in 2001. We wanted to bring the Chicago spirit to the heart of Mother Nature's personal vacation spot. Since we love both people and Nature, Pinder's is our new heaven. And we can't wait to share it with you! We both enjoy cooking, nature, and people. Having it all in one spot is all we could ever hope for. Helping people have a good time has been our specialty for over 18 years now. It's your turn to be spoiled here at Pinder's!

Cabins
The zone between creature comforts and the creatures themselves is our sturdy Ozark cabins. They'll keep you cool in summer, warm in winter, and dry anytime. We're open all year. Pinder's has 11 clean, comfortable cabins fully equipped with cookware, utensils, pots, pans, toaster, microwave, and electric coffeemaker. We provide all linens and towels except pool towels. Each cabin has color TV, air conditioning, propane heat, and ceiling fans. Bar-B-Q grills and picnic tables are just outside each cabin. We have one, two, and three bedroom cabins, all of which have lake views from the bedroom windows. Units are mostly furnished in Art Deco era furniture, have knotty pine paneling, and modern appliances. We are re-decorating as we find unique items that catch our eye. Ice, grocery snacks, ice cream, soda, bait and fishing licenses are available at the office store.

Pinder's Grounds
Our guests escaping the wrath of the City prefer not to have to walk more than a few feet to take in the relaxing sounds and feel of nature. That's why we have left as many trees, grass, and flowers in place as possible. Too much work to go for a hike along the shoreline? No problem! Just hang out around our 20 x 40 in-ground pool. Or plop down in one of the lawn chairs under a tall hardwood and listen to the birds. It won't be long before you feel your energy return. Once that old feeling of invigoration comes back, you can choose from the many activities we list below.

Your children can run off the fun energy that only the scent of the woods induces in the youngsters. Children thrill at the chance to run  unimpeded around our grounds.

If you are traveling in a group, say a family reunion, there's several large flat spots for group picnics. Our pavilion and game room also make an excellent spot for group gatherings. The new game room and pavilion are both under one roof. There are sturdy picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a bon fire pit. At night our group guests gather around a fire, tell jokes and carry on until way too late. There are periods of silence as they stare upward at the unbelievably star-loaded clear skies. Most have never seen so many stars!

At night you'll hear Nature. The call of the wild echoes off the water as coyote packs gather for the night's hunt. Twilight hunters like the screech owl and night hawk call out as the last rays of light disappear. Deep into the night you'll hear a variety of owls, whippoorwills, and herons on the lake shore. As dawn breaks until about 8am you'll see deer, wild turkey, rabbits, and other small animals as they forage for food around the resort. They may also appear again at dusk.

Area Activities
As the stress drains from you and is replaced by the desire to once again move about, you'll have numerous outdoor activities to choose from. If you want live entertainment, you're also in luck. America's live music capital, Branson Missouri, is just one hour away. Many of our guests drive to Branson in the morning, shop, dine, take in a show or two, and return in the evening. They enjoy the excitement without having to stay in it.

If you are an amateur naturalist, hiker, fisherman, hunter, photographer, artist, or anyone enjoying a naturalistic pursuit, there is plenty to choose from within a 30 minute drive of Pinder's. Our part of the Ozark Plateau has a biologically diverse list of ecological land types to explore. Cedar glades, rock barrens, oak-hickory-pine forests, prairie glades, barrens, huge springs, and karst geology formations. There are several thousand acres of public lands offering all of these.

Fishing, Dock, & Boat Rentals
The "Port to the Lake" is our new 12 stall steel and wood dock. This clean, modern, illuminated, covered, and private floating wonder conducts our guests to and from all sorts of water sport adventure. Water skiing, scuba diving, fishing, exploring nature, and boating all start from this good dock.

If you are bringing your own boat we have a launch ramp. Boat stalls are $8 per day. It's a little steep so we provide a 4-wheel vehicle for boat launches. For the fishers the dock has a handy fish cleaning station with pumped water, cleaning table, electric fillet knife, scale, and sharpening stone. Each boat stall has its own electrical outlet. You can drive or walk to the dock. We have 16 foot fishing boats and a 24 foot pontoon boat available for rent by the day or week.  Boat and outboard motors are $25.00, fishing boat with 50hp and electric troller $50, and the 24' pontoon boat rents for $135.00 per day. Please note: Gas and oil are extra.

We sell fishing licenses
